Rules

1. The Tournament has 2 phases: group phase - 2 matches between random opponent teams, final phase - semifinal for 3-rd place (between losers of the group phase) and final for 1-st and 2-nd places (between winners of the group phase). One round/phase is not limited in time. It is held until the complete victory of one of teams.
Each team consists from 1 player with the veteran skills and 2 players with the beginner skills.

2. Players can arrange whatever settings (e.g. no dwellings) they choose, but in the absence of consensus, the settings described in the “In-Game settings” above are to be considered the default. The team hosting the game is automatically and randomly chosen by the Battlefield website. A veteran player from the designated host team have to host the game. Players from the designated host team must always be №2, №4 and №6 players in the turn order. If for any reason (e.g. no DLC), the designated host team cannot host the game, then the other team does but the host from that team must then be №3 or №5 in the turn order. The host must take screenshots, preferably in windowed mode (showing the date and hour when the screenshots were taken), of the settings and post them at the game blog page on the Battlefield site for this match (so that his opponent and the judges can access them) before the match starts.
The host should set up the turn order for the teams as follow I / II / I / II / I / II (and not I /I / I / II / II / II or any other way).
Warning! Making the choice of slots for the current match be careful - to avoid too big periods between 2 players turns (in a row) it is recommended to use players times of availability on the Battlefield site. Veterans of each team have to inform their teammates which slots are preferable to take for them.

3. If one player temporarily cannot play his turns during turn timer period (e.g. because of holidays, or personal issues), and warn the host reasonably in advance, then the host should temporarily change the turn timer to accommodate him or turn off the timer at all for the period of the player's unavailability.
If a player skips his turn because of the timer, it is not allowed to revert the turn: the host should remove the turn timer and players should notify judges and wait for their indications on how to continue.

4. In the event of a crash (from your PC or from AoW), reloads are allowed BUT the player who crashed needs to take appropriate screenshots, pictures or videos (with a mobile phone for instance) and sends them to the judges. The player who crashed must not re-enter the game after the crash, he must wait for feedback from the judges allowing the game to continue. The turn timer must be turned off by the host while waiting for judges' feedback (see rule №9). Reloads should be counted by all players and reported to the judges. If no proof of a justified crash or in case of repeated reloading (during one match or during the tournament as a whole), the judges have full power to disqualify the player.

5. In the case of player's disqualification or quitting the match (by any reason) or something else reasons, which is lead to unavailability to continue the match, the judges consider the possibilty to replace this player by another player with the same type of skills (veteran or beginner) from the corresponding odd list of players. If the decision will be that a replacing is not possible then the match must be stopped and a winner is defined by the score.
Addition: be careful to keep the "silence mode" by real life circumstances, because this rule also works if the player does not respond more than 6 days in a row after his current turn starts.

6. BEFORE the match, you must let the Judges (but not your opponents) know what class and race you will play for your upcoming match by private message in the Battlefield website.
A) For one match players of one team have to play by different classes. It means that 2 or all of 3 teammates can't play the same class.
B) The veteran of each team can't have the same race as his teammates-beginners at the current match.
C) Both beginners can choose any race they want (except which was used by their veteran-teammate - see Rule № 6.B) at the current match.
D) Each next match all players in one team have to change their classes. The veteran of this team have to change his race too, but still in terms of Rule № 6.B. Each beginner of the team can choose the class which was used in the previous match by his beginner-teammate (but not his veteran-teammate).
E) If, for the current round of the tourney, there will be need to restart the match by some reasons (player replacements, bugs, etc.), it allows not to change classes in terms of Rule № 6.D. But if the opponents already faced each other in the match, any changes is allowed.

7. Banter and taunting is allowed, rudeness, swearing and racial (or other prejudicial) language is not. Repeatedly trolling will lead to forfeiting the match.

8. The decision of the Judges is to be respected. When the rules are imprecise or do not cover a case, Judges have flexibility to take the most appropriate decisions. Players breaking the rules get a total of 3 warnings before being disqualified from the tournament entirely. Judges may disqualify a player without warnings if their behaviour is deemed to be completely out of order (e.g. racism).

9. When awaiting judges’ decision (as soon as his opponent requests arbitration), the host must remove the turn timer and may need to revert turns to come back to the situation existing prior to the issue being judged.

10. If the beginners will decide that their teammate-veteran is rude or too persistent in terms of choosing a strategy of playing session or cheating, they must let know about it to the judges (evidence of this behavior, like screenshots etc., is welcome). And if the judges will agree with that evidences, then this veteran must be replaced on another one from the odd list. The match must be stopped and restart with the new composition of the team.

11. Players must play with the latest official version of the game (no beta). If the official version is updated during the tournament, players must update to it as soon as it is released both on GoG and Steam (and turn timer must be removed while waiting for the GoG release). Players must also play with the PBEM balance mod and PBEM++ mod. All the games may be updated to a newer version of this mods if all the judges deem it to be stable and necessary for game balance (they may require the non-binding opinion of the players through a poll).

12. If you feel one of the rules had been broken, but you carry on playing without reporting to the judges, then you have no recourse.

13. Players should not voluntarily exploits bug or weaknesses in the game. Players should report any bug or exploit to judges or on the official forum when they discover them. Judges can decide to ban players using exploits from the tournament.
For instance, it is forbidden to exchange back and forth cities between allies to achieve Empire Quests. One player can give cities to his allies but then his ally cannot give them back until the end of the game. The only exception is if the initial giver has lost all his cities, in which case his ally can give him at least one city back, but not more than 3 cities.

Arbitration process
The list of the main judges:  Skuns453Lirik902, Ezekiel, marcuspers.
Assistant judges are: Zytozid, gladis.
When arbitration is necessary:
A1. If 1 or 2 of the main judges are involved in the game which needs arbitration, 1 or 2  assistant judges replace them for this arbitration (if them are not involved in that game too). If 1 or 2 assistant judges are not available to replace the main judges (e.g. they are involved in the game), the 3rd main judge should name 1 or 2 temporary judges to replace them for this arbitration.
A2. All players of the team should send necessary files to the judges (screenshots, videos, their latest saved game which can be found here in Windows: C:\Users\[user name]\Documents\My Games\AoW3\Profiles\[profile name]\PBEM) by email or any other means
A3. The arbitration will be taken at the majority of the 3 judges and the decision taken is definitive. If one player refuses it, he is disqualified.
