The 2019 PBEM Duel Tournament is finished.

A PBEM tournament (the 2015 PBEM Duel Tournament) was organized and started in 2015. It was split into 3 tournaments (16 players; 8 players #1 and 8 players #2). It entered its final phase (between the winners of each of the 3 branches) in October 2016 and was won by gabthegab in March 2017. The 2016 2vs2 Team PBEM tournament started on 15 July 2016 and was won by team Coup de Grâce (gabthegab and Tussel) on 23 October 2018. The finale and the semi-finale (the match in between was conceded by team Green elephant).
The 2017 PBEM Duel Tournament started on 31 January 2017 and was won by gabthegab on 18 October 2018. The finale(gabthegab vs Jean de Metz) and the videos.

The 2018 PBEM 2vs2 Tournament started on 17 September 2018 and was won by Dread & Mac (DreadReapr and marcuspers) on 1 June 2020.
The 3vs3 Tournament started on 12 February 2018 and was won by Dos Equis XX ($eeR+El_Lobo+Badok) on 30 April 2021 , it has its own, dedicated, Pool: 2018 PBEM Team Mini-Tournament Discussion Pool
The Championsleague:
- Season 1 started on 13 October 2021 and was won by mahimka. It ended on 4 April 2022.
- Season 2 should start on 25 April 2022.

Please update the status of your match to "ongoing" if it has started.

We do not have the class / race of the following players (sorry if I missed some):
- Eskild
- badborre
- Redil
- Blackcat
- Warlord Keldon
- Lightform
- Kwibus

I think some of them have started their matches, which is a big issue. They receive a warning and need to report the class / race ASAP.

I know that Kwibus and Warlord Keldon cannot start their match now. So the only match with no explanation for not having started yet is mine against Lightform. I hope we can get news from Lightform soon.

Skuns, you're perfectly wrong. Everybody has posted the settings so far, except Blackcat and he got a warning.
The games that haven't posted the settings haven't started or will receive warnings.

So what are you talking about? If it's the windowed mode, then, it's not in the rules of the tournament. It's much better if it's in windowed mode, but it's ok if it's not.

It's a hassle to do all of this, but it prevents cheating and discussions about map settings. So it's best to make them to prevent these discussions!Â
If you have proof of the settings then there is nothing to discuss.

So it's best to make the screenshots ofcourse. I'd say that if the host doesn't make screenshots and the other player says something is wrong with the settings then the host lost as he didn't do what he had to do.

Hi. In the previous message you quoted tournament rules: "the host needs to provide screenshots of the settings in windowed mode (to see the date of the screenshot) to avoid mistakes and limit cheating".
As I see, nobody respects this rule. Often players even don'tÂ postÂ screenshots, but may be, they send its to the PM.
So the question arises - why do we need a rule that no one wants to perform?

P.S. I understand that this rule violates the privacy (secret identity) of the host-player. But personally I am for equal rights of the players and the exclusion of attempts to cheat in order to win

No worries Kwibus, you've got 2 months to play the match so I think it's ok if you start one week late.

@16 players tournament: round 3 is ready! Hosts have been chosen. Please check your match and report class / race to judges then as usual, the host needs to provide screenshots of the settings in windowed mode (to see the date of the screenshot) to avoid mistakes and limit cheating.

Round 2 of the 8 players tournament started. Let's consider 11 January as the starting date.

Please:
1/ send your class / race to the judge (one or several of Markymark, Hiliadan, Fistandantilus); so far I received Sjow and Bethrezen, don't know yet if other judges received other
2/ for the host (player "on top" in the tournament roster), please host and post screenshots of the settings (e.g. in your game blog), as with the 1st round. Host must be the first player who plays (1st player was randomly chosen so as not to advantage anyone).

Then you can start.

Please also report here if there was any reload in your round 1 game so that we can keep track of strange behaviour. Thanks!

My bad, I remembered there was 1 game left only but remembered the wrong one. So it's Pothead Pixie vs Bethrezen, which started later and will thus probably end later.

I think Markimark agreed to the change (I let him confirm) so rematch should happen only in round 5. The Cup Roster should be updated.

16 players tournament: only 1 match left, AlX vs me. We will probably need the full 2 months to finish it.
Archer01 still hasn't shown up. Redil confirmed he can play round 3.

The point is not that you may end up playing the same player twice.
In a double elim tourney it is common for the same two players to
have a rematch later in the tourney.

The point is how long until that happens. Â In the original setup, the
same two players could meet in round #3. Â With the minor adjustment
to the bracket I suggested, the first time two players have a chance to
meet for the second time is in round #5.

Personally I prefer playing against as many different opponents as
possible before encountering a rematch.

For me this is not a problem to play the same player this is normal in that kind of tournament with double branch because all players who have lost can go to the final and one of the 2Â players in finalÂ must have lose for go in final and one player must never lose for go in final, you have a second chance and win the second time is more important

Â or you go out of the tournament

. And for the final we can have 2 players who have play behind in the tournament no chose...

Yes, I think it's a good idea and do-able.
I also asked a question about how best to mix the 2 tournaments on the official forum: http://aow.triumph.net/forums... (maybe it's on page 1 of the topic actually). Feedback welcome there.
