Hey! Here are some screenshots of the score which I made during my last turn. Since I did that after the battle with El Lobo it would be fair and correct to add some points to his score.

In general he has already told everything about the game: it wasn't really interesting this time <smiletext6>

This epic game came to an end in turn 96!

As I said, Jean and me decided to meet at neutral ground and do the fight, here is the video of the 2 fights. Highlight of the fight must be my leader soloing 3 Dreadreaprs before he went down to 6hp and fled the battle.

I think after i successfully managed to take Eskilds northern cities as well as Fist's cities, it was only going to be 1 outcome. I could then convert all the cities to Dwarfs and finish the monoculture, get cheerful cities and very good mana, research and cp.

I had a very good staring position, bottom left corner in the under ground. Surrounded by lava and mountains so hard to attack, even though Eskild came relativly close before he aborted his mission. By the way, it was a good battle with Eskild mid game when he was super strong after taking all Tussels cities.

Thanks for the game everyone, was nice to experience truly end game battles and spells!

Nice and well balanced match with imo a better start for Earl and me. I wasted 3 stacks with a brute and not well planned attack and another two stacks with some elite exalteds and blight elementals which costs nearly all of my offensive troops. If I had scouted better before entering the enemy domain it would have been possible to eliminate Phirpho in the early mid game.

Anyways Jean played a very good game and blocked an attack from Earl and me with 4 stacks very long. At this point imo the game changed because we retreated and couldn't fight with this stacks for more than 10 turns.

Thank's for the game guys!
Here is the final battle of my leader stack.

Written on 2018-10-17 17:06:31

intense, balanced game that turned within the last 15 turns roughly from a prolonged defensive situation of Jean and me into an offensive situation in which we could capture and destroy several cities, including the capital of elLobo, which led to his defeat through an unexpected attack from Jean. Earl and Lobo were very strong in the early game and could have won this equally. I guess Jean is going to post his game report anyway here <smiletext1> A big thank to all for this intense match!

It was a great pleasure to play with you. Congratulations on the birth of your child, it's incredible news, I am very happy for you!
Family is our life, there is nothing more important than it. I wish you and your family the very best in life and I hope we will meet again at least for a while, maybe in Planetfall, who knows.

SO...My second game with xlnt as a team versus. Should have been practice and test before starting the tournament but in the end proved to be quite opposite. <smiletext0>

SO, starting position wasnt best as only way for me to go was to the east over water. In the end it was probably a blessing as I cleared two dungeons on my way to the continent shore. I was pretty satisfied with my battles and overall playing. Our opponents were hidden for a long time so we explored and did our best to prepare for them. My 3rd hero was flying sorcerer which proved to be great addition.

Turn 11 - still no clue about our enemies.

Mahimka is trying to get some info...

And tried to do a sneak attack on the water. I spotted him and used my two floating/flying heroes plus support units to block the way to my domain. And it worked:

First meating with Jeans army:

At that time our team communication becamo more frequent and so those were our great plans:

Unfortunately, because I went for the sphynx temple and Inn in the south I was one turn behind Jean to enter the UG. I thought he would join with mahimka's forces to defeat xlnt who started to press mahimka around the dragon dwelling. So i tried at first to lure Jean's army to attack my two weaker stack with main army hidden in shadows which doesnt worked out and then I decided to try the luck against him in the UG..and I didnt turn out very well for me.

After my defeat I recieved oitem giving invisibility and tried to sneak behind the lines. Of course I didnt check properly who can see me..

Apying on Jean..

When my second stack of crusaders and evangelist got caught in the UG unprepared from the dragons it was decided for good. I was pretty happy and satisfied how I played the game except for some decisions in late game but at that time time was pretty constreined for me and I would probably do some things differently if having enough time for it (and mind set). Xlnt gave me a lot of good tips and it was fun to play with him - as usual. We could have joined our forces sooner and went for it together or at least press sooner but it didnt happened.

Unfortunately this is my last game here. Now with bigger family there are things to do in real life which must have priority from gaming. I was glad that we played this 2vs2 as it showed me that my participation in the tournament is not possible and anyway playing 1vs1 is as well not an option anymore. Definitely not in a satisfying pace.

Have a nice time here guys, it was fun to be part of this community for few months and have a fun with planetfall on the horizon. Thought it will last longer but that's life. And life is nice. <smiletext0> Bye.

What not-common spell you are talking about?
Ah the screen took a Century to load. Cloaked in Shadows, a balance mod change.
But I Think the description is unclear and Hili wanted to change it.

Hello, Ilaanor and Xlnt!
Thank you for being our opponents in this match. You played well. Also many credits to my teammate - Mahimka - who was a real superstar in this game. Let me write a few words about it.
If we take a look at the final score we will see the following:

But it's not that simple. The military score shows that I was in fact the weakest in terms of the army.

On this screenshot Ilaanor's score is very low but that's only because he lost the decisive fights to Mahimka. Let's see what was happening on turn 26:

Our opponents were definitely very powerful while I was much behind. What's the reason for it?
The answer is pretty simple: we got lucky
That's a screenshot of Mahimka's domain:

Udranad is the dragon dwelling which happened to be very close to his domain, we met it on turn 4 or 5, I don't remember. It gave good quests immediately, was very friendly and we decided to buy and build it. I sent plenty of gold to Mahimka so that he could hurry the production a lot. I myself was building my empire to make sure I won't run out of gold, slowly producing some cannons with golems and engineeres (later I took metropoly quest and managed to produce any unit in one turn with more than 150 production points). And when our opponents came to us it was already too late.
But first we were almost caught by Ilaanor <smiletext0>

A not very common spell, many players don't know it (like Mahimka, for example) so we weren't caught here only because I was once again paranoid and checked everything with drons.
After careful consideration, I decided to try to get advantage of narrow underground tunnels.

And block him with my strongest stack.

Btw, this is a kind of superb stack I have been dreaming about for a long time! Secondary heroes are dreadnought and druid, so when I attacked mythical objects I had both ancestral spirits and summon siege engine available. The last spell proved to be good as I summoned trebuchet or cannons and was able to rely on them constantly reloading and repairing machines with dread heroes.
I hoped that ai would cast them too and I would get advantage in the fight against Ilaanor. It didn't but I still won the fight.

We protected the dwelling and very soon Mahimka got control all over the map playing very well.

Once he ran out of gold completely he gave me the dwelling and I was also ready to meet our opponents with stacks of machines and several elems+dragons.

i surrendered after making sure my opponents are ok with this - no point to drag the game, not vs players of this caliber (;

i'm happy and grateful to have been able to show Ilaanor what real tier1 2vs2 fight looks like. Sadly it mostly looks like losing

We did a somewhat good start - i was able to get towns fast, killing guards and converting to ghouls. I asked Ilaanor to focus on getting t3 units before Gorila Tactics but he went for that little OP help during battles instead for the MC - i can't honestly say which is better but i can surely say which is faster

anyway - he had some nice converts and was crossing the map and we saw no enemy, no scout, no town - nothing! Empty map for 15-20 turns!!!

and suddenly there were fly-ing units trying to sneak by and we had to counter by moving in the water... Ilaanor did a nice job managing to control the flying stack and pushing the map, clearing sites and scouting a bit. i was so afraid that he will get ambushed and frankly - he was not keeping all his army stacks together and was a bit open but still there was some great movement for 3-4 turns.

After that i found the Dragons dwell, the 2-3-4 Red Dragons + an army of t3 converted units and some gold medal units too and all that just when i was getting my ghoul strike online and trying to cover some piece of the map for myself... we were 2-3 turns too late i guess and it was all downhill from there - i was not able to stop the dragon dwelling, we couldn't get behind the frontlines and attack their economy and there was no stopping a flying stack of t4s. Ilaanor did some attacks that were not something i would have done but had some success.

my worst mistakes were:
1. not having a stack of banshee ready
2. didn't push the map when my partner was doing it to split the forces and have a chance to attack the dragon dwelling

thanks to Jean and Mahimka for the lesson

Although forces seemed to be of equal strength, Jean ended up in a crucial position with 2 stacks. Anyway, I wont tell here what considerations led me to surrender, instead I will report two interesting observations:

Jean got shock missle and after this, his drones could not be beaten by my ravens anymore. (Since my AI did not use spells.)  I tried it 2-3 times. This led to the situation, that there were soon many around my fortresses. He even used a stack of drones to destroy a fortress. This led to a even bigger gold income problem. But furthermore it took very much needed casting points away and diminished my scouting possibilities. I think, this situation cannot be highlighted enough.

In the last turns of the game, we virtually had a snowball-competition. Which i lost strikingly. With my rogue leader and another bard, i managed to convert only 1 unit out of 3 structures. While Jean was very successful with his necromancer hero. He also was lucky to gain two tier3 units from an inn. Another story about conversions: till roughly turn 26 or 29 i was not able to convert any tier3 unit at all, if i remember correctly, but then i had a period where i was quite successful. However, earlier success with it would have allowed me to clear some important structures on the way. Well, i guess, games of conversion classes are quite volatile...

I had 2 cities and 3 vassal cities. 1 vassal outpost or village was destroyed by Jean. Still i had an income of -80 to -110gold at the later stages of the game. I was utterly dependent on clearing structures. Hence I dont see a problem with the no-city-economy since the increase in upkeep of converted units...

Written on 2018-07-11 12:33:41

The game was fine in my opinion. Phirpo scouted very well and it was impossible for me to organize a hidden attack. That's why I decided not to attack at all, play in defensive style and build my empire. In this game I definitely outplayed him in economics (I built 4 cities which - with grey guard master - gave me a huge amount of gold). He was relying on fortresses and I was lucky to destroy some of them with drons.
Once again he played well in tactical battles, I spotted him several times taking these objects.

I myself was busy slowly clearing my undeground.

When I learned that half of his army was far away I managed to send a invisible sorcerer stack to him. There was also a level 10 necromancer hero who managed to ghoul some units.
Thank you for the game, Phirpo.
Looking forward to starting our team game soon.

Really interesting match. That Jean bought the fey-dwelling was a surprise and an excellent move.

Game decisive were in my view mainly two things: I lost all units apart from leader and hero in turn 2, which really sets back the whole game a couple of turns, and that Jean had 3 dungeons not very far from his cities, it seemed. This might be a result from the setting "many resource structures". The army he came up with afterwards was very strong and could hardly be beaten even with a luckier play from me. My first successful conversion was a mature shock serpent. But it was too little too late.

Thanks for the screenshot-report, Jean!

Written on 2018-06-29 12:54:06

My first game with Phipro turned out to be very interesting. I like to play with new opponents because it's challening since I don't know their playstyle and they can surprise me. Also I always have to play very carefully because a loss might result in some severe damage to my rankings  but it is exactly why I am playing these games: I want competition and want players fight for the victory.
My start was excellent: the second hero was also theocrat and I got a dragon dwelling near my domain. Since I didn't have a lot of problems with research I first researched evangelist giving my heroes the normal attack of the convert ability and later studied exalted martyrs since I was slowly leveling up 5 tier-1 units.
I first spotted Phirpo's heroes here:

He lost many units at the beginning of the game but later managed to take plenty of objects with his heroes playing all the tactical battles very well (using the key features of his heroes like twistling roots spell of archidruid, very well done)
He had a small army going into my direction (while I was busy in the underground).

And he completed a quest from a fey dwelling.

He went further.

And I decided to vassalize the dwelling to try to make him return to it and capture it from me. It worked so I got more time.
I was really busy in the underground because I was clearing THIS XD:

I guess you can imagine how many units I got here. About 9 tier-3 guys (6 from the dungeons and 2 warbreeds, 1 troll converted).
They only thing I needed after it was to come to Phirpo's domain which had some armies there but for sure not enough to defend.

Phirpo returned to the dwelling and I was able to finish leveling up my units. I also built several exalted and support units in my cities and that was enough to defend my empire. At the same time I attacked Phirpo's domain and he conceded.

Phirpo definitely showed a strong level of playing here, he managed to scout the map very well with zephyr birds and level up his heroes fast. He was unlucky with some roaming units too so in the long run I managed to win.
Thank you for the game, Phirpo, and I'm willing to give you a rematch <smiletext0>

After a long wait, I decided to remove Jean to be able to take a few screenshots and report the match.

A long story short:
We decided for 3 classes which can boost each other (the benefit of PBEM++ team games), I picked rogue for Iron Grip, and additionally picked pure good alignment to be able to cast spiritual freedom on cities.
Jean picked Dreadnought to help us boost production, and in the end I had 3 cities with 120+ production to rush SS in 1 turn for an additional 50g only.
Lastly Hellbrick picked WL to help increase domain radius and also picked a pure evil alignment to be able to create some nasty Goblins as well as Greater Life Stealing Feathered Serpents.

Hellbrick was pretty much left alone in the UG and created an impressive empire, ranging from north west to south east corner of the map, and one of his cities produced those crazy Feathered Serpents! He also cleared some mythical sites and received True Resurrect which resulted in this scary army:

Jean acted as the "Guardian of the Center" and controlled the central Giant Dwelling as well as a city he took from Lightform after an early scrap.

Dreadreapr was as always impressive in his empire building, and Lightform did his best to quickly raise an undead force, but 2vs3 for the majority of the game was too much in the end.
