You have olschenstein and olop reversed.  I was the orc warlord.

In turn 6 I saw a 7th level enamy hero/wizard.  Figured at that time I was in trouble.
Attaining 15th level in 15 turn was impressive.  But I do hope the game updates do
make it harder to do this kind of thing.

Also, I was the last out.  Not sure if that means I should finish in second
or if you go by the score.

Olop was 2nd and olschenstein 3rd actually. We need to correct the report, I'm dealing with that with Markymark.

As we can see on the screenshot from the score, I was 2nd but lagging behind you when we met... I think you did a very very good job of leveling up your leader and all your spiders. You reach level 15 and the empire quest very quickly but even before that, at level 13, you had Regrowth + Call Lightning and like 3 Elite spider queens, 1 knight, 1 griphon, 1 king serpent... The game was already over... I tried to attack your cities but your main stack was too close and get back on me very quickly. Then you did a great job of baiting me into attacking 2 isolated units to kill me the next turn.
I wanted to have some turns of respite by tacking your attention to the North, so that I can build some Nagas, with which I could have beaten you (maybe)... But it didn't work when I made that mistake and got crushed.

But that kind of thing should not be possible any more with v1.703 which limit XP farming. We'll see in following games how it works for you.

Also, I found out Bracasse's AI about 2-3 turns after we kicked him out: he was just above me. But I was too busy with Gab to do anything against him.

ok, these things happen. no sweat. 

The upload failed and then I opened the game again to re-upload and it gave me the "ironman reloading" warning (first time it happens to me... usually when the upload fails, which happen very often to me due to VPN issue in China, it never displays the ironman message)... So I had to reload.
I have a screenshot of my turn start with "End of turn" ready to be clicked, if needed.

Bracasse, we've been without news from you for about 5 days. It's good that you eventually explain and apologize for that but I think it will be hard for you to play competitive PBEM if you cannot connect at least once every 48 hours.
For this game, I'm sorry but we have to consider you as a quitter and report you to other players in the site.

As I said, I don't want to restart. I think restart should be considered only in extreme cases (like what happened in the "Tournament training" game with Markymark getting defeated on turn 1, which is really not fun.
Gab did not state any preference. If he wants to restart, then at 3 vs 1, I'll accept, but otherwise, let's just continue please. As I said, I don't think anyone will get a big advantage at this point. By the way, it's not "free cities" or "free items" as there is an AI to protect them.

9 turns it's at least 9 days, and next week, as I said, I will be on holiday so may play much more slowly.

I doubt it would take two weeks to reach turn 9 if we restart.
The remaining players have played quickly.

I prefer a restart, then we get rid of any unfair advantage/disadvantage
from the AI taking over for Bracasse.

I'm not in favour of restarting. We're turn 9, it already took us more than 2 weeks to get there. I'm going to kick him out and he will be replaced by an AI.
We will have opportunities to play other games with no quitter later, but first let's finish this game as it is. It would of course have been better if he stayed but I think it is manageable for everyone to win, even with this.

I just requested the same thing. But even if they´d implement it, it won´t help us with our running game, I guess. ;-)

Does any know if Triumph has "allow someone to take over for
a player in PBEM" on their list of things to do?  I have requested
this in a couple emails to them, but have never gotten a response.

This is how I got started with AOW.  I subbed in a few games of
AOWSM PBEM.

Razing cities has issues also, as does letting the AI play.

Taking away targets (razing cities) is as bad as making targets
easier (letting AI take over).  Either decision will effect someone
negatively.

Since we are not so far in, I would vote for starting over with 4.
Or, if we want 5 players, finding a reliable 5th and start over.

I'm waiting for the opinion of Gab (and potentially Bracasse himself).

Also to inform you that I will be away on holiday for 1 week starting Saturday, so I think I will move the turn timer to 2 days or even longer during that period.

Replacing Bracasse with AI is good with me also.

Yes, that's probably the best solution Gab.

So see what is best Bracasse. Either you raze everything then surrender, or you stay but be sure to be able to play every 24 hours most of the time, and when not, warn in advance (but it must be exceptional).

If Bracasse leave the best is : no body attack him and he raze all city before surrender.

@hiliadan: I don´t know exactly what bracasse wants. But if he wanna leave the game, let him go. If it´s technically possible.

There is no way that someone replaces you. The best would have been for you  to warn us that you could not connect this week end, so that I extend the turn timer.
However, yes I think it will be an issue if you cannot connect once every 24 hours to play your turn during week ends. Leaving an ongoing game is considered as being a "quitter", which is prohibited by this site. I'm really bothered because I clearly stated in the settings of the game that it was a 1 day turn timer game... You should have read carefully! Now, you just penalize everyone.
