Posts to the game:

First of all, thanks for a good game! Evgendil the Speedy-Gonzales didn't waste any time and inflicted a crushing blow on lx329 in turn 16, who soon after was left without a leader and throne. He didnt stop there, he continue to attack both Dreadreapr and Tussel, and after a few back-and-forth battles both of them was eleminated. That left us 4 against 1, but Skuns wasnt going to surrender! I took his cities and turned them to dust, I was expecting him to come back and take back his lands. But instead he went for my domains! I found him close to an UG-entrance/exit and decided to block it, what I didn't know was that the adjacent hex rule doesnt apply here, so he was able to attack my 4 stacks 1 by 1 (once the stack standing on the entrance was defeated, the other stacks was then not united anymore). Anyway, that left me exposed and Jonny sent his Fire Giants in a crushing pace to my rescue, Jean sent his draconian fliers and magical beings in an even quicker pace and on the surface Evgendil was sending his remaining forces, so in the end all of us was there, ready to take the final scalp, but the indipendents got the last laugh and defeated him while he had no throne. I do suspect he did suicide, its quite hard to kill a lvl 17 necromancer after all <smiletext0>

Hi, friends. I'm going to working trip from September 26 for about 2 weeks. And I'm sure that I can't play until I come back. I hope that such a long wait is not much spoil the mood of the game.

Hi Skuns!

Sorry to hear that you have problems, is it something the community can help with?
From my point of view, I can't say I have any problems with you taking your time and get your problems solved, or try play and see how it goes.

Since one of your teammates are already eliminated, it would surely mean the end of your team's chances, so better you stay and fight, no matter how long it will take!

Hi everyone. I think I can't play my turns for some period of time. I will try to play, but maybe it will be imposible to do. I don't know yet how long it will take. I think at least two weeks. But may be much longer. I will take any your decision in this respect

Hello, mates!
I've just finished my turn. Unfortunately for me, my internet connection dropped while I was in a battle so when I solved the problem and opened the game I got this quite common message, which appears in this cases.

Videos
Hi everyone,

I've started to create videos now.
With your permission I would like to record my rounds from now on, and post them when the match is over, they can obviously also be used to report the matches and as evidence in case a turn is restarted, for example.

Thank you!

4vs4
King Serpents invite you to a friendly 4vs4 game.
If you have a team already, good! If not, 4 solo players wanting to challenge us are also welcome.
We are the most friendly players you will ever face, so lets have a good game!
/Marcus

Just to avoid misunderstandings, we will use Balance Mod created by Zascow to avoid XP farming and Necromancer exploits.

Hi Skuns,

Welcome to the game!
Yes, some of them seems to have ignored my recommendation!
But to be honest, I also left it a bit open, as the playing times was very different.
If Tussel make his rounds in the morning (GMT) I guess it should be fine and allow a good flow, as lx329 was the only other one with different time than the rest of us, and he/she is last. 1 round every 2 days as minimal should be achievable.

If you happen to know anyone that are willing to take the last spot, it would be great!

As I could see, not all of you take their places according to the list of teams which the host made. It is not so important, but I'm used to discipline at all things <smiletext1>  <smiletext17>

Hi again Hatifnat

I appreciate that you took time to come back to the game and reply.
While I largely agree with you, especially in the discussions for the new version of the balance mod, I have already given my feedback on the official forum, and is not encourage to dwell/comment further on it.

I'm not sure what classes you prefer to play, but the balancing of Necromancer was a must! I hope you can agree?
There was also loopholes in exploiting XP farming, by dragging the battles out, another issue looked at in the mod.

Those two issues was maybe the most important to look at, and that's the reasons I prefer to play with the mod, in it's current state.

Of course, by playing with the mod, we also run the risk of being forced to play with the mod in it's future state, so I give you a point there.

Anyway, you have your reasons and it doesn't look like you will change your mind, so I've asked the admin to remove you from the game, so we can move the game back to "open games" as opposed to it's current placement in "ongoing games".

Best of luck and hopefully see you in another game.
/Marcus

the last patch changes were great, its what we need for more competitive games.
i read some future changes, it looks very good.

Triumph will not balance the game any more.
The changes are as minor as possible.
The patch is discussed by the most experienced players (best ranked here + top MP players).

So the only difference with what you describe is that we don't discuss on a closed forum, we discuss it openly.
I find it a bit contradictory that you say the discussions were too quick but at the same time, you want the discussions to be in a closed forum. The discussion is not quick and all the changes have been discussed for several weeks / months and the process is a step by step iteration so bad changes can be and are reversed or improved based on feedback.

+ the sample used is 69 matches of the tournament and 217 matches in total (http://www.the-battlefield.com/aow3/index.php?page=ladderstats), not 10 matches.

The game has serious and known flaws (especially Necro's exploits). I think the balance mod is very important to solve these and you deteriorate your game experience by not using it. + you slow down the process of improving it because less people can test it.

I would be very interested to get more feedback by PM or any means if you think some things need to be improved.

I largely agree with the logic of Hatifnat. At the same time I`m not against mod in it`s current version. But may be we will play this match without mod and without necro? And with Hatifnat <smiletext0>

Hi Marcus,

While I am not against community patches in general (I was a huge fan of UP1.4 for AoW Shadow Magic) I am not enthusiatic about this project.
No offence to anyone, but the discussions I have been reading were often based on statistics from this website, despite the small sample (10 or less) meant it had no statistical value. Also, many times  the proposals seemed to have been accepted and rejected back and forths surprisingly easy, without much discussion...

For AoW SM 1.4 patch it was a totally different story, as
- Triumph was not going to release any more patches
- the changes were as minor as possible
- the patch was prepared by the most experienced players and discussed in closed forums

It seems it is not the case here... I may be 100% wrong and the patch may turn out to be a perfect solution that will be be accepted by the whole community, but I am simply not convinced at this stage,

Cheers and good luck!

Hi Hatifnat,

While I can understand your reason, I also can't understand it?
The main difference between the mod and no mod is simply not so much benefit for Necromancer, and sower leveling. All in the good for an honest game?

@rest Will try find another member.

OK, just noticed you decided to use the mod. I will quit then, as I prefer to use the vanilla version...
Sorry about that, but it was decided after I signed up...
Good luck anyway<smiletext0>

I could, if it's something the majority want? But then I would need to remove this game and host another, can't change that setting once the match is hosted!

You could always decline the offer, so I don't see a big problem here, but as I said, if majority want to have "random hero match player race" - I will re-host, no problems.
